Teaching Profile
I am an adjunct faculty member and professional and technical communication practitioner with experience teaching undergraduate courses in workplace writing, technical reports, proposals, grantseeking, and professional development.
My teaching emphasizes applied projects, scaffolded assignments, accessible course materials, revision, individualized feedback, and connections between academic learning and current workplace practice. I aim to create an inclusive learning environment in which students understand expectations, see the relevance of their work, and have multiple opportunities to build confidence and improve.
My professional background in UX strategy, user research, business analysis, and technical communication allows me to bring current examples of audience analysis, usability, information design, collaboration, research, and ethical communication into the classroom.

Senior Tutor

- Conducted more than 1,000 face-to-face and online writing tutorials with undergraduate, graduate, multilingual, and English-language-learning students.
- Supported students at all stages of the writing process, including brainstorming, organization, research, revision, documentation, and editing.
- Earned positive or excellent ratings from 98% of surveyed students.
- Led more than 40 writing-center orientation sessions for nearly 600 composition students.
- Mentored novice tutors by providing guidance, feedback, resources, and professional support.
- Developed a resource explaining changes in MLA’s eighth edition that was used by students, faculty members, and writing centers across the country.
- Received the Mayme Hamilton Award for Excellence in Tutoring.
